The Science and Technology Division at WVU Parkersburg prides itself in offering you programs aligned to the workplace. The selection of skills and knowledge we provide you are guided by industry-recognized assessments and certifications. When you leave one of our programs, you receive not only a college credential but also certifications that are recognized nationwide by employers in your field of study. Examples include CISCO, NCCER, ADDA, NATE, MCP, A+, and OSHA cards. Additionally, our programs and assessments are designed to prepare you for other national certifications, such as NABCEP, BPI, CCNA, and CCNP.
Humanities, Fine Arts & Social Sciences Division
Welcome to the Humanities, Fine Arts & Social Sciences Division of West Virginia University at Parkersburg. Business, Accounting & Public Service Division
Business programs were approved for accreditation from the Accreditation Council for School and Business Programs (ACBSP) in 2013. Accreditation brings a national stamp of approval and focuses teaching and learning on continuous improvement. Public service programs are available in Criminal Justice and Legal Studies. Every degree and certificate is geared toward providing you with the skills and attitudes to become a professional in your chosen career.
We have a variety of certificates and degree options as diverse as our personnel. Between our seven faculty members and two support personnel, someone is always available to welcome you and answer any questions you may have regarding our division’s programs and courses. The Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education Degree program emphasizes the practical model. This model focuses on the theoretical, development, and technological aspects of the knowledge base that are prerequisites to the daily demands required to be a professional educator in a school environment.
